Daily Meditation for November 1, 2022

In many Christian Churches, All Saints Day, November 1, is the day we remember and honor all the holy men and women who have gone before us who are considered by Church leaders to have been persons of extraordinary faith and love. These saints are held up as examples of ordinary people living extraordinary lives of faithfulness and trust even in the most difficult of times. Many of these saints ended up dying for their religious beliefs and values which often ran countercultural to the values and beliefs of the people who killed them. These blessed men and women, those known and those unknown, remind us of our own call to be faithful to God’s will in our lives as we carry out the work of Jesus who said: “Whatever you do to the least of my brothers and sisters, you do for me.” That is our challenge on this feast day.
