Procedures for Year-End Giving
As we approach the end of 2025, we’d like to remind you how year-end donations are handled. The Internal Revenue Service is very clear on what tax year contributions should be recorded:
- Any contribution that is received in the Office of Mission Advancement by December 31, 2025, is a donation for 2025.
- Any donation postmarked with a date of December 31, 2025, or earlier is a 2025 donation.
In summary, all donations that are received or postmarked in 2025 are considered 2025 donations regardless of the date on the check. This rule also applies for stock donations or any other non-cash donation. A donation must be made by December 31, 2025, to qualify as a 2025 donation.
Please note that the United States Postal Service stamps a postmark date on mail when it is processed, which may not be the same date it is received. Please keep this in mind when sending year-end donations.
We are grateful for you and your generous partnership with the sisters. We wish you Christmas blessings and a happy new year!
