Daily Meditation for November 20, 2025

November is a month dedicated in a very special way to remembering. In a fast-moving culture like our own, taking time to slow down and remember may seem like a waste of time and energy. But if we race toward the future without reflecting on our history, we risk repeating the mistakes of the past. The Bible tells us that, by regularly remembering God’s saving deeds of the past, we can bolster our hope for the future. The Book of Sirach urges us: “Consider the generations of old and see: has anyone trusted in the Lord and been disappointed? Or has anyone called upon God and been neglected?” (Sir 2:10a). On November 11, we celebrated Veterans’ Day, remembering and honoring our fallen military personnel. On November 27, Thanksgiving Day, we will remember the many gifts with which God has blessed us. May these memories enlarge our hearts with gratitude, generosity, and hope!
