Daily Meditation for March 13, 2025

Pope Francis has designated this year of 2025 as the JUBILEE YEAR OF HOPE. Hope is one of the three theological virtues with FAITH and LOVE being the other two. We might ask ourselves what our strongest hope is at this time in our personal lives. Perhaps for many of us, WORLD PEACE might be one of our greatest hopes. Mindful of whole countries being at war with each other, we cannot possibly fathom the horrific harm done to Mother Earth and its human and animal inhabitants. With Jesus, Dorothy Day, Mandela, Martin Luther King, Oscar Romero and the El Salvadorean martyrs, we too have a dream for world peace—a dream where conflicts are settled without bloodshed, where all people are considered equal, where the Beatitudes which Jesus taught are lived, and where war is not considered an option. May that dream come true sooner than later.
