Daily Meditation for February 22, 2024

We are into the Lenten season! How are we doing? A well-known story entitled “Two Wolves” may suggest an answer as we continue throughout Lent. An old Cherokee is telling his grandson about a fight that is going on inside him. He says it is between two wolves. One is evil: anger, envy, sorrow, regret, greed, self-pity, guilt, lies and pride. The other is good: hope, humility, kindness, joy, generosity, truth, compassion and faith. The grandson thought about it for a minute and then asked his grandfather: “Which wolf wins?” The old Cherokee simply replies: “The one I feed.” During Lent, we can choose to starve the evil one or nourish the good one. Which choice have you been making?
