Daily Meditation for February 7, 2024

Many times over the years, one hears of people telling of what an enormous task moving from their homes was. STUFF was the reason. So much stuff accumulated over the years instead of giving away what one no longer needed. The solutions to that oft-repeated burden is living simply which happens not by addition but by subtraction. Watching carefully not to accumulate things we no longer want nor need is one way to prevent them from becoming stuff. We are surrounded by people living in poverty who perhaps could use one’s good stuff. Living simply has a calming effect and helps one develop a reflective heart. It can lead us to God as it gives us more time for prayer and people. In doing so, we no longer have to deal with the multiplicity and superfluity of too much STUFF.
