Daily Meditation for April 28, 2026

Today’s first reading from the Acts of the Apostles recounts a yearlong experience of faith sharing and conversion, as the people of Antioch claimed a new identity as Christians. When I was in college, some friends encouraged me to sign up for a weekend retreat named Antioch. During the retreat, I was amazed at how freely other student leaders talked about their faith and gradually started to share a bit myself. At the end of the weekend, the leaders gave each of us a few letters. “What were they? Who were they from?” I wondered. They were letters of support from people back at the college who had been praying for us the whole weekend. I was astonished for it felt like God was enfolding me with love through this vibrant community of faith. What formative experiences have you had as a member of a Christian community of faith?
