Daily Meditation for April 29, 2026

As spring approached, we experienced potholes in the roadways that result from the freeze/thaw cycles.  We’ve come to expect potholes in Minnesota.  We learn how to navigate around them, hoping to avoid them.  Then we wait for the repair cycle to kick in as soon as weather permits.  And we hope for a smooth ride soon. We jokingly say the two seasons in Minnesota are winter and road repair. We might say life is like that.  What is the winter time in your life?  When do the potholes appear? How do you navigate or avoid them?  What brings about repair of the potholes? And what constitutes a smooth ride?  Dipping into the liturgical cycle may be one way of imagining the pothole cycle.  We’ve come through Lent, celebrated Easter and now anticipate the feasts of Ascension and Pentecost. May this be a time of a smooth ride when we see that God is good.
