Daily Meditation for April 9, 2026
“The reappearance of the light is the same as the survival of the soul.” (Victor Hugo). April is a time of renewal, as the days lengthen and nature wakes up. The natural world seems to mirror the gift of Easter. How does that feel this year when so much of the world still seems to operate in a state of conflict, violence and spiritual darkness? It demands trust in God. This is a time when we are called to believe in the promise that Christ’s rising from the dead makes: a promise that we too, and our world, can let go of the hopelessness that darkness signifies and find a way to make our light shine. As each light shines in the company of other faith filled people, we create one big, bright blaze, and know that our souls have survived and have the power to banish the darkness.
