Daily Meditation for November 11, 2025
Perhaps we were first taught the concept of Grace and its meaning when we were children, possibly through the Baltimore Catechism or some religion class instruction. But the concept still seems hard to define. In his letter to the Romans, chapter six, St. Paul describes grace as a gift from God enabling us to have and further develop a special relationship with God. We do not earn Grace, but it is given to us out of God’s love; we need to accept and cooperate with it. Paul teaches that grace helps us to overcome sin and our inclinations to it. Prayer and good works accompany grace — indeed, are fostered by it. Grace is alive in us when we act out of love for God and neighbor. Cooperating with God’s grace is thus our path to growing and deepening into a closer relationship with God.
