Daily Meditation for March 3, 2026

Each day we watch for the mail: bills, letters, cards, magazines, and brochures.  It’s the letters and the cards that we value the most, right?  These are personal and are addressed to us, generally coming from someone we love and admire.  We read each word or phrase many times as we imagine the person standing near us speaking these precious words.  The daily scriptures are like that; they, too, contain messages from One who loves us and cares for us.  The daily scriptures can be read as love letters from the Beloved if we choose to spend time reading and rereading the texts.  Isn’t that what Lectio Divina is all about?  We are encouraged to read slowly the Word of God, ponder the Word as a personal message, then reread for a deeper meaning, and finally hold the message within as we enter a deeper interior space sitting with the Beloved.
