Daily Meditation for April 15, 2025
The full moon of April is called the Paschal Moon because it occurs at Easter. It provides spectacular clear light often lingering for more than one night! The moon has long been mysterious to us. How can a celestial body, which does not of itself produce light, be such a bright companion through otherwise long, dark nights? The Paschal Moon accompanies the thousands of essential night workers who faithfully keep watch at the busy hospitals, the bedsides of ill or restless family members. And the night people giving service in convenience stores, fire, police and emergency call teams. The moon surveys all those who change their shifts to stay longer, to vigil with us. Only the watchful moon knows how many anonymous, over-extended, exhausted and generous people there are, who are kind enough to stay on through the night. Let the Paschal Moon reflect our gratitude for the human kindness which shines faithfully 24/7. The “Man in the Moon” sees through the darkness to light the way for us!
