Daily Meditation for March 28, 2025

I was amazed as I entered the parking lot at the parish that cold Sunday morning! It was a calico car! A yellow fender on the front left, a blue hood, a green front right door (obviously, a total wreck remade) The “body man-artist” of the creation stood proudly beside his masterpiece. As I gazed at the calico car, the gentleman opened and closed the green door with a thud. “Y encaja bien (and it fits well),” he announced. Then looking at me he asked, “Would you like to drive her?” He was proud of his work and had come to church to join us! Sadly, many in our church communities resist the several “makes, models and varied colors” who are arriving at “our” church communities! We of one color don’t easily welcome the confusion, noise, music, food and behavior of other cultures.

May we learn to be members of a place of worship where ALL “encaja bien”!
