Daily Meditation for February 26, 2025
It is not easy to pay one’s full attention to the present moment. While the risen Christ live is in us, it is still so easy to forget about his presence in each and every moment. It might be helpful to remember what the French philosopher Simone Weil said: Paying attention is the highest and purest form of generosity. Living in the present moment demands our full attention. It is in the present moment that our risen Christ lives and sustains us as we rush around trying to get things done and making plans for the next day or week. “Haste makes waste” is an old slogan but so true. It is hard to handle things gently when one is always in a hurry. Thus, living our lives in the present moment is much less taxing and proves to save time and energy.
