Daily Meditation for January 22, 2025
As believers, we are called to help one another, to aid those who are suffering, to care for the sick, share with the poor and visit the prisoner. What does this mean for us in our daily life? How do we address the overwhelming challenges of today? It seems that my action alone will never solve the problem of homelessness, poverty or injustice. Yet, I am called to make a difference! Sharing financially is good, but sometimes it takes courage to do more than write a check to a favorite charity. Jesus says we must see the poor, homeless and imprisoned as our neighbor and love them as we love ourselves. We are the hands of Jesus. When we begin to see the humanity of each one of God’s children, then we can work together to bring care, compassion and love to all of our brothers and sisters.
