Daily Meditation for May 30, 2024

As the rain falls gently on our dry spring land, every face has a relaxed look! We are grateful for a luscious rain after our Midwest dry winter. We need moisture for fields and gardens. But along with these yearly hopes of moisture we hear of many examples of unusual weather-related happenings. The sea level has increased so the numbers of floodings along coastal areas has increased. Even small islands are disappearing. Many coastal livelihoods are being washed into the ocean. Coming into the mainland winds seem more vicious, whipping up dust devils, tornadoes, hurricanes, and typhoons. Gradually there is more and more agreement that the cause of the various weather happenings is global warming which is now being studied seriously by scientists and environmentalists. What can we personally ask ourselves to do to help?
