Our Mission
We, the Sisters of the Order of Saint Benedict in St. Joseph, Minn., are a monastic community of women who seek God in our daily lives according to the Gospel and the Rule of Benedict. Through our ministry of prayer, work and community living, we listen and respond to the needs of the Church and the world.
Prayer Requests
As a Benedictine monastic community, a significant part of our mission is prayer. Is there someone or something you would like us to pray for? You’re invited to share your special intentions with us. You will be remembered during our daily prayer of Liturgy of the Hours, and your request will be shared on a community bulletin board seen by the sisters every day.
It is our privilege to pray for you. God bless you!

Daily Meditation for February 3, 2026
/in Daily Meditations/by Emily VraneshToday’s Gospel shares two miracles Jesus performed that are both lifegiving. Jairus’ daughter is rescued from death and the woman cured of a blood disorder. In both cases, great faith is demonstrated by the two petitioners — who have no doubt that Jesus can and will assist them. Jesus speaks to both Jairus and the woman. He says, “Your faith has made you whole” and “fear not, only believe.” We are told elsewhere in the Gospels that we should ask for anything in Jesus’ name, and it will be granted. Perhaps we do not recognize when a miracle has occurred? Sometimes the miraculous escapes our notice, because we are fainthearted, lacking full trust in God’s care for us. Jairus and the unnamed woman were anticipating a miracle and were rewarded accordingly. With sufficient faith, we may approach God more confidently, enabling God’s grace to work freely within us.
