Daily Meditation for October 1, 2026

October is the month when we celebrate the feast of the Guardian Angels. Do you recognize yours? Perhaps, there are unexplained happenings that might be called “Guardian Angel Moments.” For example, you are carrying a heavy item in a store, and a stranger asks if he or she might help you carry it. Maybe, you are struggling with a decision, and a conversation with a friend moves you in the right direction. Or again, looking around the house for a lost item, you whisper a prayer and then, you find the item—sometimes in a place you have looked earlier.  Angels, especially a Guardian Angel, might be considered “childish”, but scripture and Catholic dogma support the understanding that at baptism, each person is given a special angel, one who cares tirelessly for them. October might be a good month to pay attention to the many places that you will encounter your special angel!
