Daily Meditation for May 28, 2026
Summer is the season to travel and explore new destinations. Some people visit foreign countries, others go to sparkling cities, others simply relax in a place of nature. Near or far, exotic or simple, travel allows us to step away from our routines, refresh ourselves, and see the world with a renewed perspective. No matter where we journey—even to places of solitude—it is important to be respectful guests. We should strive to adapt to our new surroundings rather than expecting them to conform to our ways. This adjustment is central to the purpose of travel: changing our routines, experiencing a new culture, and appreciating unfamiliar landscapes. The more we immerse ourselves in local customs and connect with the people or natural environment, the richer and more meaningful our journey becomes. Upon returning home, we are changed by our experiences. We perceive our familiar world with new eyes. Hopefully, this transformation, in turn, inspires us to welcome our next visitor—any stranger to our familiar group or community—with genuine and renewed hospitality.
