Daily Meditation for May 11, 2026

More than wishful thinking, the expression “April Showers Bring May Flowers,” is surely a harbinger of spring. From the appearance of the first dandelion, much to young children’s delight, adults are heartened to know spring has arrived. Flowers are truly an expression of God who we honor as “Good, True, and Beautiful.” Gardeners look forward to the emergence of tulips, jonquils, and other harbingers of spring. The Good, True, and Beautiful is visible among us. As the season moves on, other flower species appear, each bearing their unique form of blossom, each fulfilling its essential part in the survival of the plant. For without plants there would be no life as all creation falls back on the seed-bearing life through plants. Without flowers to produce the seed for new life, new life would not exist. God, being the God of beauty, chooses to enhance this act of survival by gifting all of creation with the endless splash of color that gifts us with the pleasure of “waltzing
through the daises.”
