Daily Meditation for February 13, 2026

Millie moans, “My days don’t have variety nor events of interest. They are ‘gray and run together like oatmeal.’1  If my days had at least some raisins in them, I’d feel more energy and enjoy them more. And if slices of bananas, a teaspoon of brown sugar or a swipe of peanut butter were added, I’d consider it a delight.” Suggestions: how about creating a recipe to stimulate your mind and emotions. Read a novel to help you learn and stir your imagination and feelings. Fold in the spice of talking with someone you have been resistant to contact. Engage in a new activity with a friend. Turn up the heat with reflection and prayer, especially during this season of Lent. Maybe you’ll even find that life has more “raisins” in it than you tasted before. You could even discover that plain oatmeal (a plain day) is a nutritious and settling comfort food.
