Daily Meditation for February 10, 2026

Today is the feast of Saint Scholastica, the sister of St. Benedict. Scholastica was a woman with great faith in prayer. The story is told how she and her brother Benedict met for their annual visit. As evening came, Benedict said he needed to return to his monastery. Scholastica begged him to stay and pray with her through the night. Benedict refused her request, so Scholastica bowed her head in prayer, and it began to rain. The rain turned into a storm, preventing Benedict from returning to his monastery. Scholastica said, “You refused my request, brother, but God has listened to my prayers.” They spent the night in prayer and conversation. May Saint Scholastica, the patroness of the Benedictine Sisters, strengthen your faith in prayer. Pray for the Benedictine Sisters in your area, in gratitude for all they have done in your parish and in the Diocese.
