Daily Meditation for October 6, 2026
“O Lord, open my lips and my mouth will proclaim Your praise.”
This invocation prayed daily by many monastics is a fitting prayer to begin a new day. Much of our daily activities include verbal communication or are transmitted through some form of media. With each contact, a manner of personal relationship is established be it for good or, please God forbid, a negative impact. A word of advice, support or encouragement may go a long way to help someone through an event that may impact one’s own or others’ lives, inadvertently offering God the praise noted in the above prayer. Respect and support in what and how we say may be reflected in a moment of reflection: how did my relationships both in action and in word make a positive impact on other’s lives and my own personal day in God’s good world?
