Daily Meditation for November 3, 2025

“No eye has seen, no ear has heard, and no mind has imagined the things that God has prepared for those who love him” (1 Corinthians 2:9). November begins with the feasts of All Saints and All Souls and ends with Thanksgiving. Does our remembrance of those who have passed bear any relation to Thanksgiving? The former are religious feasts, Thanksgiving is a secular celebration, yet somehow, they speak to one another. Loved ones or saints whose example we follow, and who are now with God, are a reason to give thanks. As Christians, we believe that life does not end with our last breath. Rather, this is the moment when we pass into the eternal mystery which St. Paul reminds us is something greater than we can imagine, prepared for us by the God who loves us. Another reason to give thanks!
