Daily Meditation for May 28, 2025
Pope Francis caught our attention with “listen up!” as the kids say! “Ours is not a joy that comes from having many possessions, but it comes from having encountered a person, Jesus, who is among us. How can it be that it is not a news item when an elderly homeless person dies of exposure, but it is news when the stock market loses two points? The world tells us to seek success, power and money. God tells us to seek humility, service and love.” How have I listened? Who is the Jesus who needs my help right now? Right here? Do I recognize Jesus in the person or even the organization asking for my help for the elderly, the starving, the homeless, the children, the prisoner, the man next door who has lost his wife, or the woman who is a single mom?
