Daily Meditation for May 14, 2025

A good read is a book by New York Times bestselling author Nita Prose. In her first book, The Maid, there is a murder at the hotel and because of Maid Molly Gray’s naiveté and desire to be helpful, she becomes the prime suspect in the case. The reader can’t help but fall in love with sweet, innocent Molly. Throughout the book, she quotes many words of wisdom handed down to her by her grandmother, who is affectionately known as “Gran.” One of these pearls includes, “Everything will turn out alright in the end. If it’s not alright, it’s not the end.” This quote has been attributed to John Lennon or possibly a couple of Portuguese writers, but regardless of its true source, its meaning has the power to provide hope and perseverance for all who are struggling. Recall the passage from Romans 8:18, “I consider that our present sufferings are not worth comparing with the glory that will be revealed in us.” Let us journey forward as Easter people, believing in the glory that is to come.
