Daily Meditation for May 2, 2025
“But those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength” (Isaiah 40:3).
Happy Eastertide! This is a liturgical season of hope in the Jubilee Year of Hope. Is that significant? Yes! Many of us are dismayed by all the harsh things happening in today’s world and feel at a loss to know what to do. Let’s be comforted by Isaiah’s words, placing our hope in God and believing that we will receive the strength to make a difference. Every small act of kindness, every prayer for peace, every time we react with courtesy and not violence is a cause for hope. Christ’s resurrection from the dead promises us that hope is not in vain. So let us celebrate this Jubilee Year of Hope, as Pope Francis intended, by affirming our hope in the Lord and our belief that together we can begin the work of repairing our broken world.
