Daily Meditation for November 13, 2024

Many of us sisters write these “radio spots” each month to offer you, our listeners and readers, brief starting points for reflection. Some of these short meditations give words of encouragement or reasons for gratitude. Sometimes they present a challenge or raise an unsettling reality. But no matter the topic, we want HOPE to be written between every line. The source of that hope is the central teaching and instruction of Benedict’s Rule: “Prefer nothing whatever to Christ.” Through these daily reflections, we pray that you and we ourselves come to know Christ more deeply. Whether in a time of trouble or in a time of joy, preferring Christ above all else keeps hope strong. And it is not for us alone that we hope; we become Christ-messengers for the millions of people who have lost hope.
