Daily Meditation for October 3, 2024

These days prior to the presidential election seem very strange. Fear and anxiety seem to have a firm grip on the hearts of many people. Thus, there is a great need for unwavering trust in our loving God—the God who always loves us as we are and not as we should be. The sacred Scriptures hold comfort for us all. In them we find messages of hope which help us to have unwavering trust in God. The Psalms alone are a great source of trust and joy. Having our hearts open to God, we cannot put a lid on joy. The prophet Nehemiah (8:10) reminds us that “the joy of the Lord is our strength.” Having unwavering trust in God who always cares for us, we can face each new day with joy and deep peace.
