Goal Exceeded for Catholic Sisters Week Project Supporting Laundry Love

This year, we celebrated Catholic Sisters Week by partnering with Laundry Love, a national organization that helps low-income families afford laundry services at partnering laundromats. A community partnership was established by the Central Minnesota Catholic Worker in St. Joseph, Minn., in October.

For two weeks, collection jars were available at various sites. Together, we collected $1,588.11—more than three times the original goal of $500! Thank you to the many people of our St. Joseph community and beyond who supported this project. We are inspired by your kindness and generosity.

About Laundry Love

Laundry Love is held in St. Joseph the first and third Tuesday nights of the month from 5–8 p.m. During that time, individuals and families can visit the St. Joseph Laundromat and get quarters and laundry supplies to do their laundry. Two to six individuals or families generally participate each time, and Laundry Love aims to have $110 available each session. Volunteers come from Saint John’s Campus Ministry, Saint John the Baptist Catholic Church, and the Central Minnesota Catholic Worker.

If you’d like to donate to the St. Joseph Laundry Love site, mail your check or cash to P.O. Box 94, Saint Joseph, MN 56374.. Checks should be made payable to Central Minnesota Catholic Worker. You can also inquire about volunteering by emailing centralmncw@gmail.com.
