The Lord is kind and merciful. These words come up often during this season of Lent. They call us to remember that Jesus has died for us and forgives our sins. This is a gift that we often take for granted. During this time of Lent, we are called to make sacrifices in our daily life. We often hear about the themes of fasting, prayer and almsgiving. Lenten resolutions are several weeks old. It is time to reflect on how we are doing. Have your taken extra time for prayer and reflection by yourself or with your family? How are you fasting? Are you staying away from gambling, fighting, or other activities in your life that need to change? And what about almsgiving? How have you reached out to the poor, the lonely and those who are struggling to live a peaceful and grace-filled life? God bless your efforts.
