Trusting involves letting go of control, letting things evolve as they may, and releasing expectations for how things will work out. Trusting God “with all your heart” often calls for a leap of faith and accepting that whatever happens, we will be okay. We humans like to make our own decisions and have predictability in our daily lives. So now we are being asked to trust God with all our hearts AND “lean not on your own understanding”; to allow God to show us the way without trying to control things. Also simple, but not easy. One thing we know is that God will provide all we need to live these verses in our daily lives, and we need to trust in that promise even when it’s hard.
