Daily Meditation for March 11, 2022
People who have the means and inclination to escape Minnesota winters, even if for only a few days, claim the benefits of doing so. Those of us who don’t find it possible to escape the effects of winter are challenged to make the best of it and exercise our option to be positive about the benefits of sticking it out. So what are the benefits? We can claim to be hardy. We can engage in winter sports including ice fishing and share our catch with others. We can build community by participating in winter festivities. However, there are people who experience the negative impact of winter due to illness, age or poverty. Winter provides an opportunity to reach out to them in care and concern. Whom do you know that could use a “picker-upper” this winter, and what could you do to bring a little relief to their lives?
