Daily Meditation for January 12, 2022

During this second week of the New Year, 2022, we might be thinking about our New Year’s resolutions and how we are hoping to improve our lives, behaviors, relationships and goals. Most of us know we will either improve as we move forward or we will grow disinterested and lax. It is somewhat like the story of the old Cherokee Chief teaching a lesson in life to his grandson. The grandfather said: “A fight is going on inside of me, inside you and inside everyone else between two wolves. One wolf is evil and creates anger, hatred, greed, resentment, lies and all sorts of evil thoughts inside each of us. The second wolf is good and creates love, kindness, patience, joy compassion, generosity and gratitude inside us.” The grandson thought a minute and then asked: “Which wolf will win?” The grandfather answered: “The one you feed.”
