Weddings and Prayers

In the year 2020, I had two nieces and one nephew get married. I was not able to attend the marriage ceremonies in person yet watched them via livestream. It was so beautiful to witness their love and commitment to one another. The three couples were a little older than previous family weddings, and they waited to meet the right life partner. The newlyweds were all expecting babies within months of each other. The births, which began in August, are ending in November; we all know that the birth of a child is a miracle. My nieces and nephews are good friends, so now their babies will have the same opportunity to develop special friendships within the family.

What does this have to do with Saint Benedict’s Monastery, you may ask? Due to the pandemic, I was unable to attend the weddings yet promised all the couples the gift of prayer. On their special day, I posted a picture of the wedding couple on the community prayer board, along with a prayer request. We prayed for them, as we pray for many people every day. New prayer requests appear on our bulletin board every day, and reading the request brings me closer to the people we pray for.
