COVID-19 Vaccines at Saint Benedict’s Monastery and Saint Scholastica Convent

We are pleased to report that both Saint Benedict’s Monastery and Saint Scholastica Convent have received COVID-19 vaccinations. SSC sisters have received both doses, while SBM sisters will receive the second dose in March. We are grateful for the nursing team from CentraCare Health that set up vaccination clinics in both of our locations to make it easier and more accessible for all sisters to receive the vaccine.

If you would like to read more about these vaccinations and how we have been handling the pandemic, we have two resources available:

  • Sister Mary Weidner, subprioress, gave an interview prior to receiving the vaccinations about how the monastery has kept itself safe.
  • Minnesota Public Radio published a story about CentraCare’s mobile “strike team” setting up the vaccination clinic at Saint Benedict’s Monastery.
