How ironic and sad that as we swing into the month of June—that month when Nature is so lush in greenery, blossoms and sweet smells—we still battle a deadly virus. The beauty of Nature calls to us and we resent even more being barred from full enjoyment of the outdoors. Some of us have become more reflective, more responsive to those around us and perhaps have even found an inner peace. No frantic running around—whether shopping or clubbing—a calmness is possible. The Old Testament psalmist said it well: “He guides me along the right path; he is true to his name. If I should walk in the valley of darkness, no evil would I fear. You are there with your crook and your staff; with these you give me comfort.” While it is true that the shadow of death is near, God is even closer.
