When was the last time you really laughed? Good belly laughs with a dear friend or loved one can be a healing balm during a difficult time. Laughter can be contagious. When we laugh with another person, we can fall into fits of giggles. Laughter is a precious thing in this world. Frida Kahlo, a Mexican painter, touches on the importance of laughter when she says, “Nothing is worth more than laughter. It is strength to laugh and to abandon oneself, to be light.” It can be a strength to find humor in the world and to realize it is important not to take yourself too seriously. Laughter can become all too rare because it is challenging to abandon ourselves to the light, especially as adults. So laugh, and laugh hard! Abandon yourself to the light in the world and bring that light to your loved ones and friends.
