“Lord, on the day I called for help, you answered me!” Jesus often took time to go to the mountain to pray to His Father. The disciples asked Him to teach them to pray, and he taught them the prayer we all know so well—The Our Father. Because we know it so well, we can pray it without thinking. This week, take time to pray the Our Father slowly and thoughtfully. The words are challenging if we pay attention. As Jesus took time to pray often, so should we. He has told us “ask and you shall receive!” Does this mean that God doesn’t hear us if we don’t receive exactly what we are asking for? God is a loving Father and gives us what is best for us and when it is best for us. Continue to pray, asking God to give you the gift of trust in his love.
