LCWR Social Media Campaign: Standing Against Racism

At the 2018 Leadership Conference of Women Religious (LCWR) Assembly, a resolution was approved to recommit to the “important work of addressing racism as a systemic, structural cause underlying and contributing to the multiple injustices identified in the LCWR Call.” A resolution created at the 2016 assembly pledges “to go deeper into the critical work of creating communion, examining the root causes of injustice and our own complicity, and purging ourselves, our communities, and our country of the sin of racism and its destructive effects.”

As part of this effort, LCWR, of which we are a member, will be running a social media campaign called Standing Against Racism. Every Wednesday, LCWR will be posting graphics and quotes on its Facebook and Twitter pages to “raise awareness about the scourge of racism and the importance of standing together to confront its destructive effects on our communities and our country.” We will also be sharing these posts on our own Facebook and Twitter pages. This campaign will run from April 3 to May 15.
