If we are honest, we will gladly admit that it’s always nice to receive a compliment. It just feels good when someone recognizes the value of something we have done or said. After all, most of us interact with other people in our daily lives. It’s important for us to know how we are relating with others, family, friends, co-workers and acquaintances in a variety of situations. A compliment is a welcome affirmation. How do we respond? Do we just savor the good feeling we get? We can do more. We can move in a positive direction, with care and concern for others. Thus, a really good response would be to return the favor. The positive power of a compliment received is doubled when we notice and sincerely compliment another person. We are thus joyful and happy to be part of the wonderful human family.
