Living as we do in Minnesota, we annually endure winter. Winter does require us to make some lifestyle changes. We wear warm clothing, travel about with caution and limit some of our activities to indoor venues. We learn to deal with the cold weather. However, more than the weather can be cold. Any time in the year, we can be cold in our lifestyle as we go about our days without enthusiasm, just automatically going through our routines. Our hearts can be cold and dull, our days boring and meaningless. How do we warm up and enjoy our days? The best way is to get beyond ourselves and reach out to others. When we listen to others, share kind words, provide a gentle presence with smiles and genuine interest, we warm own hearts as well as those of the people we meet. A wonderful cure for the cold winter blues.
