Daily Meditation for November 24, 2009

by Ruth Anne Schneider, OSB

Variety is the spice of life, we say. God gave our world a lot of variety in creation including beautiful flowers and many kinds of trees, some flowering and others producing fruit good for eating. There are animals of every kind, many providing food for our table. We can name many singing birds and those that are just pleasant to look at. And what about the fish we enjoy catching and eating? Add to this the diversity among peoples of all races. God made them all, and as someone has said, “God doesn’t make junk.” All people are created and loved by God who does not love one race more than another. Let us be grateful for this diversity and pray that one day soon, we may love and respect all people as God does.
