Girls Seeking God
through Benedictine Life
Do you want to make a difference in the world?
Is God calling you to be a Sister?
Benedictine Sisters make a difference through community, prayer and work.
Community
As Benedictine Sisters, we are committed to one another in our search for God by
- supporting and challenging each other;
- developing our God-given gifts; and
- working for unity and peace.
Prayer
We are Sisters because we want to primarily seek God. Prayer is an important part of our life that connects us with the Church and the world. We pray every day, several times a day, sometimes with other Sisters and sometimes alone.
Work
As Benedictines, we serve others in a variety of occupations, using our God-given gifts. Sisters work as educators, administrators, mentors and spiritual guides, gardeners, fundraisers, office assistants, pastoral ministers, health care professionals and in a variety of other work settings.
Does this sound like the life God is calling you to live?
There is a lot to learn about being a Benedictine Sister. Making the decision to answer a call to religious life takes time and follows a process. The first step is to talk to a Sister. Visit her where she lives, join her for prayers and a meal, or just e-mail her now and then to learn more. Sisters at Saint Benedict's Monastery would love to correspond with you about the religious life.
