The idea of contagion is usually associated with the world of illness and disease. But in reality other things are contagious besides diseases. Even laughter can be contagious. Anything that spreads is contagious. A book entitled Contagious tells companies how to sell products, ideas and behaviors for the sake of profit. It gives practical advice and several pointers on how to hook people so that products, ideas, and behaviors will catch on. During Easter season, the stories we hear at Eucharist from the Scriptures tell how belief in Jesus spread or was contagious. After the disciples overcame their initial fear upon the death of Jesus, they found the courage to go out and preach the good word and it caught on. As believers, what is our role in spreading the good word that is our legacy as Christians to a world in need of the message of peace and forgiveness?
